About

Compromised of the last two volumes of the novels released after Jane Austen's death in 1817, Persuasion was the last novel Austen completed before her death. The story follows Anne eight years after she was persuaded to break off her engagement with the man she loved, Captain Wentworth, due to his lack of fortune and connections. Similar to her previous novels, Emma and Pride and Prejudice, Persuasion is about overcoming preconceived notions and societal barriers to be with the one you love. Set in Austen's favorite of Bath, the story is almost a love story to her previous novels. The love declaration in Persuasion follows suit to those present in Sense and Sensibility, Pride and Prejudice, and Emma.
