An ivory plaque carved with scenes in three registers. The upper registers are divided by columns and under semi-circular arches which are decorated with beaded moulding. The two uppermost scenes depict the Annunciation (Mary and the Angel Gabriel) and the Visitation (Mary and Elizabeth). The central register shows the Nativity with Mary lying on a bed and the Infant Christ just above her being warmed by the ox and ass. A figure stands on either side of this scene, possibly Salomé (the midwife) and Joseph. On the bottom register, Jesus is being presented by Mary to a male figure carrying doves. In the bottom left-hand corner the Massacre of the Innocents is depicted.
