About

Bagpipes have been an instrumental part of Scottish music and culture for centuries, dating back as early as the 16th century as a way to lead Highland soldiers into battle. However, their beginnings are not completely known, as evidence of the instrument shows that they’ve been around since the 2nd century in Egypt. Today, bagpipes are known as Scotland’s national instrument and are still played in the streets of Edinburgh and around the country.
