After the arrest of Emmeline Pankhurst, a terrible fire broke out in one of the warehouses in Devonport. Although nobody was hurt, it caused a lot of damage and the suffragettes were blamed. Stapled all around the burned building was a pamphlets saying good things about the suffragettes
