Bubbles

About

This was the last object I collected, straight from my kitchen. I love the little bubbles that come out of the washing-up liquid when you close it, like a brief floating surprise. I tried to make a few different bubbles but this was my absolute favourite - it's a little bubble inside a bigger bubble, like translucent Russian dolls. I really like the idea of making water stretchy, the holographic patterns that form on the curvature of the bubbles, dancing about and changing effortlessly, and the way it distorts everything you can see through it.

It is not a monument, but it feels like a small piece of architecture made of water and soap.

Can you imagine if we could boil soap bubbles too? Or if blowing bubbles made the same sounds as a pot of boiling water? That is how this sound pairing came about.
