Closure

Vauxhall Motors closed its doors for the final time on the 28th March 2025, bringing to an end 120 years of production in Luton. Many will remember the closure of car production in 2002 or the winding down of other local Vauxhall facilities, but this marked the last chapter in a long history. While emotional, the photographs here capture a sense of pride, as employees through different eras reflect on their contribution to Vauxhall's story. Now that Vauxhall's presence in Luton has ended the community has come together and is working to preserve its legacy in the town.
