Designing and building a car was only part of the process; each vehicle also underwent tests to ensure it could perform safely on the road. Early testing took place at a smaller site in Chaul End, but as the company grew, a larger, purpose-built facility was needed, leading to the move to Millbrook, in Bedfordshire. There, specialist laboratories and purpose built test tracks examined every aspect of the vehicle under extreme conditions, from plummeting temperatures and rough terrain to steep hill climbs and the famous "ski jump". Together, these tests ensured that every vehicle was able to handle real-world conditions, wherever it was driven.
