Apprenticeships

Every year, hundreds of young people joined Vauxhall Motors through its highly sought-after apprenticeship scheme. The two main streams for apprenticeships were craft and commercial, lasting four to five years. Opportunities in areas such as the canteen, photography, and carpentry were also offered, alongside junior roles, graduate schemes, and training for girls, ensuring there was something for every type of learner. / The first year was spent in the training workshop, learning a wide range of skills before moving into specialist departments for practical, hands-on experience. While the scheme helped many people start their careers, it was also highly prestigious and recognised across the industry.
