uThulisiwe Mtshali wazalwa futhi wakhulela e-Etete KwaDukuza, KwaZulu-Natal. Ngonyaka ka-2015, wathola i-National Diploma in Fine Arts e-Tshwane University of Technology. Manje ungumqondisi wezinhlelo ze-Creative Creations Arts ohlelweni lwezikole olubambisene ne-Luthuli Museum. Umsebenzi wakhe ugxile ekuthuthukiseni amakhono abantu abasha. UThuli wacelwa ukuba enze isithombe seNkosi uLuthuli seNkulumo Yesikhumbuzo yama-14 futhi ungowesifazane wokuqala onsundu nosemusha othole leli thuba. Uphinde enze ubucwebe obuhle esebenzisa izinto ezenziwe kabusha, njengezivalo zeplastiki, ngenhloso yokugcina indawo yethu ihlanzekile futhi kuvikelwe izitshalo nezilwane zethu.

Thulisiwe Mtshali was born and raised in Etete KwaDukuza, KwaZulu-Natal. In 2015, she obtained a National Diploma in Fine Arts from Tshwane University of Technology. She is now Programme director for the Creative Creations Arts in schools programme in partnership with the Luthuli Museum. Her work focusses developing young people’s skills. Thuli was commissioned to do a portrait of Chief Luthuli for the 14th Memorial Lecture and is the first young black female to achieve this honour. She also designs beautiful jewellery made from recycled objects, such as plastic caps, with the intention of keeping our environment clean and protecting our plants and animals.
