The soundtrack of Dawn of the Dead embraced synthesizers and other experimental instrumentation of groups like Goblin, who did the entire sound-track for the European release (called Zombi). In this way, the film achieves a modern sound with retaining the sense of dread of Romero’s earlier movies.
