About

The bridge’s two towers were built between 1839 and 1843. Did you know that there are several differences between them? The Clifton tower - built on the edge of a vertical rock face – was completed while the Leigh Woods tower - perched on top of its large red sandstone abutment - was still under construction. When you walk across the bridge, take a moment to pause and look more closely.
