This Collection highlights the main themes of the Feast & Fast exhibition at the Fitzwilliam Museum, Cambridge (26/11/19-20/4/20). Everyone has something to say about food: restriction; excess; nutrition; supply systems; exploitation; profit; (over)consumption. Whether we view food as a daily necessity, a scarce resource, a source of epicurean pleasure, or fraught with decision and danger (or all of these), it is vital to everyone. This Collection is designed as an accessible and irreverent way to open up conversations about our relationship with food and its place as a social and cultural identifier. Though food can be controversial, it can also be playful, and this collection serves both of these on a platter.
